For my first Share you will get approx ONE Yard of each of the above, that's 10 yards in 10 colours for only $16 (add $3 is you are having this shipped to you)

Include your name, address and phone #, and YOUR PAYPAL EMAIL ADDRESS (if you are not local),

•I only accept cash and Cheque for Local orders and PAYPAL or E-Cheque for out of town orders

•I will confirm with you when I have a group of 10 people to share this ribbon, I will email you a invoice (paypal if you are not local), then I will order it from Stampin' Up! and divide and package it and Contact you for pick up or mail the share back out to you.

*Please note this could take a week to 10 days for this process for local pickups, if you are having this shipped to you in Canada please add $3 to your total as well additional shipping time to you.

This Share will run until the end of September, I will run multiple groups each with 10 people. You will not be invoiced until your group has 10 people/orders.

2011 convention is now over, the news I am hearing is fabulous for the upcoming Holiday mini catalog! While I can't post actual pictures of the new products until September, I can tell you that Stampin' Up! has unveiled a new tool for your arsenal - the Simply Scored. This is a scoring tool and has more features than anyone can hope for!

Hi Everyone! I just want to share with you that by the end of this month (June) my demonstratorship will expire. I just don't have enough buying customers any longer to be able to keep it. I will be able to provide you with the new catalog but it is pre-order only ($11ea) Deadline to order is Monday June 20th.

Just over a week ago, I went down to Portland for a Stampin' up! Regional seminar. I really enjoyed myself even though I went absolutely alone. Usually I go with other demonstrators that I know, but this time, I knew not a soul. I found a table with 5 or 6 other demonstrators, 2 of whom were also alone... It was great to meet them. Part of the fun of seminars is when we trade cards or items. I have a few items to show you, but first I will show the card front I made.

I used the French Foliage set from the Holiday Mini, and watercolor crayons. I did all this the night before and actually put them together while we were driving down to Portland (actually Salem, where we stayed with family)

I will show a few more samples made with this set, they are absolutely gorgeous, and show such a variety of uses. Call me if you are interested in getting this set, I know someone who can hook you up! LOL

I feel so bad! But I also havent been stamping. It has just been too hectic. I have to say, with so many people asking, I am planning some classes again for the Fall.

Back in the Land of the Living!

Hello fellow stampers! I know, it has been forever since I posted... many of you have been worried, questioned and finally gave up...

I am truly sorry.

A little explanation.

Last July, my one and only daughter became engaged. I was ecstatic! (still am by the way ;) John is a great guy!!!)

We went through the whole wedding thing and I loved every moment of it, from shopping for the dress, making the invitations (yes of course!LOL) made the thank you gifts, the programs and still have the "thank you" cards to do... but alas... they are in Greece for a few days... breather for mom!

So as you can see... I have been busy, maybe busier than I needed to be but since I only have one daughter, it was quite important to do it right!

Hopefully I can keep up a bit now... I do have a few items to show you, but right now I want to point out that the "retirement list" is out. I have also found the retiring accessories list...but I have to work at getting it in a readable format.

Please, have a peek, if there is anything you really need, I have orders going in regularly. Don't hesitate to email or phone me!!!

Club Night

Next Club night is this coming Thursday evening, 7:30... Members will be reminded :)

Here is a taste of what we created in September, using the Upsy Daisy stamp set. I am totally in love with the reverse effect of this set. It creates the perfect palette for using dazzling diamonds and the effect is more beautiful than shown here.

Our cards also use the new "Styled Vanilla" hodge podge frame and brads. I hope you enjoy it.

My clubs will be once again starting shortly. Sign up soon to reserve your spot. The catalogues are in so if you come by, sign up then you can HAVE the new catalogue in your hot little hands immediately. I will not have time in the next few weeks for a catalog reveal, so please email me to sign up.

Here are some questions I've had about clubs over the years I've been offering them.

What is a Club? Each month the same club members get together in my studio to learn new techniques, make projects and have fun. The club runs for seven consecutive months and each member commits to spending a minimum of $30 per month (before shipping/taxes) from choices in the catalogue(s). You make the projects for FREE each month.

What are the benefits? You get a turn at being the hostess once in the seven month cycle and earn free hostess only benefits and stamp sets!

What if I can't make it to club? No problem - Your project will be completed for you if you are unable to come - you just send me your order by email or phone to fulfil your monthly minimum obligation to other members. (payment by credit card is accepted)

Can I bring a friend? You may bring a friend to the club, however, I need 1 day notice for preplanning the projects. If your friend makes a purchase, there is no charge. If they just want to join us to stamp, there is a $5 supply fee. You may also hostess a separate workshop outside of club and/or obtain outside orders to add to your workshop sales total and increase your benefits!

Any other perks for joining a club? Each member receives a complimentary copy of the Fall-Winter Idea Book & Catalogue. A relaxed fun atmosphere where fun is the number one goal. It's perfect for those of you who say "I'd love to have a workshop and earn free benefits BUT I don't know anyone who stamps" In a club you don't need to know anyone - I find the guests for you and you don't have to clean your house either!

Sizzix? you are wondering what is this? It is a personal Die Cut machine. A few years ago, Sizzix was all the rage. Since then, many other machines have come onto the market. I am sooooo excited!. For all of you who waited on buying the "ahem" cuttle mug...(sp I know) this is EVEN better!

The Big Shot works with ALL competitive dies, and the steel rule dies can cut through an impressive list of 50 different materials, including fabric, foil, and chipboard.
It's important to note that there are different types of dies.

Originals, Bigz, and Bigz XL dies. These steel ruled dies cut through virtually any material and multiple sheets of card stock and Designer Series paper.

Sizzlets dies. These dies are small and detailed, often creating scored or perforated details. These dies cut through thin materials, and multiple sheets are not recommended.

Decor Element Sample

Just thought I would share with you where I put my first Decor Elements. I wanted to put this in my stamping room but really, if you have seen my room, there is no place on the walls to put it. I figured above the door is a good spot, perfect size and I look straight at it when I am busy "creating"

My boys decided I needed a letter "C" to put in front so I have ordered and received it, just haven't put it up yet. If you come by my stamp room, be sure to have a peek at it for real.

Oh, and these are super easy to apply. I did have some difficulty with the "dots" however, I have since received some tips and if you plan to get these, I will share them with you. :)
Stampin' Up! has also created both an instruction sheet and a video for applying these.

New Stamp Stuff

I am so excited to have received my "preview" order. I got busy late last night using some of the goodies. I think I really like the new "In Colors" now that I have seen them in real. These cards were made using a template that I came across, I think from sheetload of cards. The red paper is a bit like Ruby Red, but it is actually Riding Hood Red. The patterned papers are from one of the new designer series papers, Bella Rose. In the photo you can also see the new Scallop Border Punch....really cool to play with too!

I hope you enjoyed these, I hope to have another something to share with you tomorrow...oh wait, I can show you what the cover of the new catalog looks like... no, I don't have it yet but someone at convention shared it.

Discontinued Accessories Part 2

Many of you have been asking me why Stampin' Up! would be getting rid of things like all the "eyelets"... I did a little reading on the demonstrator website and here is the explanation they are giving us.

"Items on this discontinued accessories list will be available while supplies last or through August 10, whichever comes first.

Products are marked as available or unavailable. If an item is unavailable, our supply is exhausted and the item can no longer be ordered. This list will be updated every afternoon through August 10.

Keep in mind that the status of any product may change quickly based on demand.
With most catalogs, some accessories are completely discontinued while others are redesigned or reconfigured for the new catalog. Sometimes popular items are "discontinued" in their current packaging or style to come back with improved packaging or added product features. This year, no accessories are being reconfigured."

I hope this explanation helps a little. We are not given any more details and will know the minute the catalog is released to us all.

Beautiful Saturday Morning

Good Morning!

It is such beautiful day here in Vernon, BC. I am so enjoying the sunshine. Saturdays are my cleaning day and I just dread being inside. I plan to hurry everything up a bit so that I can actually spend some time outside.

This past week I had a small stamping "Customer Appreciation" evening. I say small because 5 stampers came to join me but boy did we have fun making these cute photo holders. This was my "surprise" craft for the evening. The other item that everyone made were "paper clip bookmarks" as shown in my newsletter and which I will share another day.

Baby Thank You Notes

It was high time I got these done for my Daughter-in-Law (boy it feels strange to say that instead of son's Girlfriend, but really really cool) She was able to hand them all out and cross one more thing off her list.

I stamped these using

bashful blue cardstock
ballet blue cardstock

bashful blue stampin' write marker
Year after Year Stamp set
accessories: brads, punches, hemp and gingham ribbon

As you can see, the dark faux buttons were created using first the1/16"punch and cutting 2 holes, and then the 1/2" circle punch around them. This created a "button" look to accent the cards. Give it a try, maybe even emboss them first...

Hello everyone, I am finally back after the wedding festivities and preparations. I have been stamping off and on...
Last month, this stamp set "Wonderful You" was on special. I wasn't going to indulge in anymore stamp sets until I have sold off some of my "retired" sets first. Well, one of my great clients was more than gracious and allowed me to use her set when it first arrived. I needed a card for my daughter's birthday so this is what I came up with. After that (and a few more card trial and errors) I knew I had to have this set... Enjoy!

Thinking Pink for a few minutes

A friend had a baby girl so I had an excuse to work with the pink colours for this card. Again it features the retired "Bundle of Joy" and I also used my cuttlebut for the textured hearts. The base of the card is Regal Rose and the accent is Pretty in Pink.

Someone asked how I am getting my "watermark" on my photos. I am creating it each time I edit my photos so I am not really using a "watermark" as such. Difficult to explain because I don't really know what I am doing. I use Photoshop CS2...

Today is our Japanese student's birthday. We had a great celebration with her and a guest, including some major "baby" time where everyone got to hold Addison. She loved her gifts and was especially thankful for a home-made card. I can't say this is my own design as I copied it from a sample received in a swap when this set was in the mini catalog. Ok, I really wanted this set when it was in the Spring mini last year. I coveted it...But resisted. Then in July when I was told I was going to be a Grandmother... well I HAD to get it. I had a reason to get it. Does it matter to me that it hit the retirement list? No, sad as I never did demo it, but I am happy I got it and now I am playing with it. Home from Mexico

I know, it has been a while since I have shared any stamping samples. I hope to get a few things done this week to show you, including another tutorial... just working on the "wording" and getting the photos cropped.
We (hubby and I) spent the last week in Mexico and man did we have a blast! We met new friends down there and kinda became a family for a week. Really great time. We got to see lots of the country side, whales old town Puerto Vallarta and even Iguanas. I will try to share more in between doing some stamping for you. ;)

Longing for Warmth

Today the sun is shining brightly and I have a longing for warmth. I know it is only January and where we live, we are in for a good bout of winter yet. Good thing that 2 weeks from now I will be sitting on the beach in Puerto Vallarta! I really do like the winter, snow etc, but always right after the holidays, it is nice to have sunshine and warmth. (have to get up on the ski hill a few more times too, so winter can't be over yet ;)

Today I have a bright coloured card to share... I love how the Gable Green and Pretty in Pink look together. I had pieces of the "scallops" from the scallop tutorial left over and used them here. I also used the Level 3 Hostess set "Time Well Spent", coloured using Gable Green and Pretty in Pink. The brads are also Gable Green from the "Bold Brights" brads.

There, now I feel warm again!

Spending Time Stamping

Well, and surfin' the net... you see, I bought myself a new laptop and it has "Vista" on it... I love Vista!!! For those of you who didn't know, I used to be a tech support for Vista... but not for the customers, I supported the techs on the floor who supported the customers... Ok, enough of that except I will give you my reason for my appreciation of Vista...

If you have Vista, you will know this...Vista has a "sidebar" and on this sidebar, you can install gadgets. My favourite gadget by far is the "RSS feeds" I get the updates from all my favourite blogs instantly and can access them from my desktop.

OK, boring..... but not for me... this is my excitement for the day as it allowed me to get my inspiration for this card from Paula.

My card base is using "River Rock" one of this year's "In Colors collection" and Mellow Moss. The printed paper is my from my new package of "Ginger Blossoms" and the stamp is from the new Level 3 set "Time Well Spent". I coloured the little flower using "Pretty in Pink" marker and the heart is coloured with "Ruby Red" marker. The center of the flower is a clear round rhinestone brad from the "Pretties collection". A Beautiful Thing

Yup you guessed it! Another Scallopped edge! This one shows the use of the Pretty in Pink sample I created using the corner rounder punch. I love how Close to Cocoa and Pretty in Pink look together. I also used one of the new sets from the Current Spring and Summer 2008 catalog, A Beautiful Thing.

Addition: My customers have asked me to post the colours I use in my cards so I will start doing this now. This card uses "Close to Cocoa" for the base, "Pretty in Pink" for the next layer and the flowers, "Chocolate Chip" for the scallops and Ruby Red brads for the flower centers as well as "Chocolate Chip" 5/8" ribbon for accessory.

Scalloped edges

As promised, I created a card using the pieces I created from the tutorial. It also allowed me to use the new "Bali Breeze" paper and my new "Embrace Life" stamp set.
As you can see, I used the scalloped pieces along each side of the paper and it gives it a great off set from the main part of the card. I stamped using "Tempting Turquoise" as I did not yet get the In Colors "Soft Sky" ink yet. I think it goes well don't you? Thanks for looking!

Tutorial: Scalloped Edges.

We see them everywhere now, but how do people get them if they don't have the right diecuts or multiple gigapunches?... Be sure to click on the photos in order to see them more clearly, they should enlarge somewhat.

I have learned these techniques from other sources over the last little while, how to do these using some of the punches I already had and don't take credit for any of them whatsoever.

So, here goes, my first tutorial and 3 methods of getting scalloped edges all compiled into one.

Method #1
You will need:

corner rounder punch
cardstock

This method works great for straight edges. Remove the lower "corner" plate as shown in the photo. It should just pop/slide off.

Holding the punch upside down so you can view where you are punching, line up the edge of your Cardstock with the "v" in the bottom edge of the punch. Punch the first "scallop". You will then line up the next scallop by lining up the "v" again and making sure your edge of the scallp is touching the last one. That is it!

You can also do this on a circular or oval shape but a little more measuring and matching will be required.

This photo shows how to get the inside of a circular or other shape to have a scalloped edge. This would work well to create a "window" in the front of a card or on a scrap book page.

Method #2
You will need:

circle cutter or straight edge
slit punch
Cardstock

First, cut out small circle. Then cut another about 2 sizes larger (I am using the coluzzle cutting system so you will have to guess, but I would say about .5 inch)

From the inside, you will carefully punch using the "slit punch" matching up the edges with the outermost part of your Cardstock and the previous punch. This will give you a circular shape with scallops on the outside. You can also use this method on the inside of a circular edge but you do not need to cut the inner cirlce out, just pencil mark it so you have something to guide you.

Believe it or not, you can also use this method to go around any shape! By using the technique below, you can adjust the shape of the circle into any shape you want. Just give it a try!

Method #3

This method I am giving credit to Mary Jo for, I read it on her blog and adapted it abit to make it easier. I will show both methods in case you don't have the 1 3/8" circle punch.

You will need:

Scalloped Punch (Stampin' Up!)
1 3/8" circle Punch (Stampin' Up!)
paper snips (scissors)
Cardstock

Using the Circle punch, first punch out the center of your scallop. Then using your Scallop punch, punch out the outer edge as shown in the photos.

(Just a quick Note, the reason you do this by cutting the circle first, it is difficult to get the circle in the center of the scallop if you cut the scallop first.)

Next, use your snips, cut between 2 scallops to open up your punched out peices. Now slit carefully from the straight edge up to each valley section making sure not to cut all the way through. This is similar if you are a seamstress, to "easing" a sleave or curved area to fit a straight.

This will make your scallop able to move into any shape you choose. (you can do the same with the #2 method in order to make perfect scallops as referred to above)

The last photo I am showing here is how to cut the scallop off if you don't have the circle punch. The edges may appear messier, but really, it will never show once you have your other layers on it. My next post will use the samples I have created here. Thanks for reading!

Valentine's Stories

I won!!! do you know what blog candy is? oh my goodness... I will have to do something like this. Ok, here goes... i was surfing the net and linking from blog to blog to get inspiration for my classes this month....Yes, now you all know my secret. I came across a great blog that had such a romantic story on it. You can see Mary Jo's blog here.

Mary Jo jogged my memory of a valentine's story so when I noticed she had a "blog candy" offering and all one had to do was tell their story, I got busy typing. I wasn't really entering the contest, I was so excited about my story... and so here it is for you all to enjoy...

"I have one for you… way back, (i think 23 yrs now) my then boyfriend and I were planning to get married… we were never officially engaged as he had this weird sense that it was too traditional and didn’t like to follow norms… fine with me, we set the date for March 30th… that meant though that I was not wearing an engagement ring either. We did go shopping for wedding rings and never really came to any conclusions except that I kept looking at bands rather than the diamonds…Feb14th, I was at home at my parents and addressing the invitations and he came to pick me up for a “Valentine’s dinner fundraiser” he brought me a single rose in a vase. It was so sweet… but we were late. So I was in a rush to get out the door. We got into his truck and asks me “did you look at the rose?” I answered “of course hun, it is beautiful” he says “no, did you really look at the rose?” Well… even though we were late, I had to run back into the house and there at the base of the rose, was a beautiful diamond engagement ring! i ripped it off the rose (poor rose) and started crying… it was the only one we had looked at months before that actually fit my finger and didn’t need to be adjusted… i will never forget that, and how romantic it was.

I am still wearing this ring, and after almost 23 years (coming up this Feb) the ring is still as beautiful to me as it was the day I got it. Mind you, it has had to be repaired a couple of times and is getting thin, but I will never take it off.

Here we are on the last day of the year 2007. I am sad yet excited... time goes by so quickly and every year seems to go even faster. As I reflect on the past year, I have to think of all my friends both on the internet and those I know in person. You are all special to me.
Now as I look into the immediate future, I am thankful for all of you and looking forward to another (even though I know it will fly by once again) exciting year.
The first week of January, even though it is still holidays, will bring the current stampers groups together. January 2, the new Stampin' Up! catalog will also come into effect. We all have been anxiously awaiting the news of lower prices due to the Canadian $ parity. We have been rewarded for our patience!

The new catalog has lower prices. Yippeee! BUT WAIT!!! Stampin' Up! has lowered them even more due to the fact that when the catalog was produced, it was based on what the $ was valued at then. We have been celebrating since Sundayafternoon, and I am more than a little relieved to say that as of tomorrow, life will return to the normal routine...at least until New Years ;) Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas & all that it brings...but after all that, I'm ready for a little bit of dull and quiet oh yeah...and work...
Ok, the new Spring 2008 Catalog has arrived...call me to get your copy... But that's isn't even the real reason for this post ... Stampin' Up! made an amazing announcement earlier this week and for obvious reasons (see above) I haven't been able to share the news until now:
THIS JUST IN: Due to the strong Canadian Dollar, Stampin' Up! has announced a price reduction! You will notice in the new catalogue that prices are already lower, but after another study, Stampin' Up! has decided to reduce them a further 7%, effective January 2nd, 2008!
Catalogues were printed before this decision could be finalized, so price lists will be made available with each catalogue for easy customer reference. New prices will be listed in the on-line catalogue (which will be available for viewing on Wednesday, January 2nd - just go to the link on my website on Wednesday to see it first-hand!)
This price change will be in effect for the duration of the Spring & Summer Catalog, which runs from January 2nd until June 30th, 2008.
This is also good news for Workshop Hostesses - the Hostess Benefits Chart will also be revised on January 2nd, which means that the minimum sales amount required to receive hostess bennies will be LOWERED from $225 to $200!!
And if you ever thought of purchasing the Demonstrator Starter Kit (either just for yourself, or to launch your own home business), then January is THE time to do it: on January 2nd the starter kit price will be reduced from $275 to $260, PLUS Stampin' Up! is offering an additional 10% off the kit price to new demonstrators in Canada through a promotional code offered in the Winter 07/08 issue of the Canadian Scrapbooker magazine (just check the magazine's back cover to find the promo code...)

Class Preparations

Every year I am asked to do a "Christmas Craft" with the ESL students at our local college. Usually there are around 20 students but this year there is 40! Wow... a little nervous about this but it should work out.

My plan is to have them create a "votive holder" and a Christmas card that they can either give to their host family or take/send home to their own families. Usually they want to keep it themselves though as they are very excited to have created something so cool with their own hands. This post shows this years votive holder which features the Hostess Set: Perfect Presentation. The cardstock is Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate. Enjoy!

Selling Cards

Last week I made my first attempt at in a "fair" style environment. It was a flop as far as selling my wares, but I did manage to make a few new friends and many have signed up for my newsletters. This is a good thing, it shows interest in what I am doing and gives me the will to continue.

This posting includes one of the cards I had available for sale. I totally CASED the idea from another demo, especially the colours and use of the "Perfect Presentation" Hostess stamp set... however, I was never able to determine how her fold was done from a photo and she must not have received my request for more information so I just did my own thing...

I finally received my "5 year" pin from Stampin' Up!, only about 8 months after the fact... but hey, they remembered. It is a cute pin, and I will wear it on my Stampin' Up! apron with all my other pins :)

Here is another from our previous class, it is difficult to see but the Purely Pomegranite and Wild Wasabi are from the "In Colors" from the current catalog. Just a note, the current In colors will be staying until the July Catalog. Is anyone excited for the new catalog in January? I have mixed feelings, I find there are items in the current catalog that I would like yet, but still there will be so many cool new items in the new catalog.

The preview mini is in my possesion so you would like a sneak peek you can look here or to see it for real, just drop by...We are not able to order from it yet, it is just a taste of what is to come!

It is also a great time to have a peek at the Stampin' Up! website as the main page has a new look. There are some cute ideas for decorations and several samples to look at as well. I find it very refreshing and hope that our new and improved personal websites will be up and running soon too!

At long last... I will post the sample of what the gals did on club night... the card ones are easier to post since my samples of the scrapbooking nights don't have any photos on them yet. I better get them printed eh?

anyways, this card is called a "Shadow box card" it is very simple to make yet very effective! It fits in a regular 4.25 x 5.5 envelope as well.
